During past 35 years(1973~2006), annual total snowfall amount averaged across 61 weather stations in the Republic of Korea has decreased by 4.3cm/decade. Also the frequency of snow days have decreased averaged 1.7days/decade. While total snowfall and the frequency of snow days in Korea decreases, total precipitation including snowfall and rainfall during winter didn’t change.

Precipitation pattern in winter is changing from snowfall to rainfall and the snow to precipitation day ratio is 2.5%/decade
